Just wanted to let you know that it is down to 2 emcees for Hip Hop song of the year for the John Lennon Songwriting Competition. It’s between me and my brother, Red Baron. Both of us are gospel emcees from Philadelphia, and both of the songs were produced by me as well. God is so good, didn’t expect this to happen, but I am very happy that it did. May 1st starts the voting to see if it is me or him that won….I’m not going to sway your votes, but I am going to tell you to vote and to vote frequently! We are both ecstatic for each other.

Consider Psalm 119:11:

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.

Now consider the biblical illiteracy plaguing our nation!  We cannot be lazy, we must start committing the WORD to our memory so that when the Bibles are stripped from us, we will still have the word to guide and lead us.

So, here’s what I challenge everyone to do (I’ll be doing it also)….take the time each weekday to commit 3 verses to your memory.  I’ll be posting the verses that I will be working on daily so if you want to work with me you can.  Then during the weekend, I want everyone to review all the verses from the previous week to make sure they are committed to memory.

By the end of the month, you should have an extra 60 verses underneath your belt to use as ammunition against the enemy of your soul!  I know it sounds very elementary and perhaps childish, but if we expect our children to memorize scripture, we must do the same!
